We all have our favorite websites that we go to
first thing in the morning. I'm a Huge news junkie,
I love to know alittle bit about everything. So in
the past 4-5 months I have becomes a big fan of
Digg.com. If you have never
been to the site you are missing a collection of
stories placed by users ranked by either time
submitted or most popular.
Why is this even addicting? For one it’s not an
editor reviewing each article and deciding if I
should read it or not. It’s a group of my “peers”
that look at the title/story of an article and
decide if they like it or not. I put that “peers”
part in there because that social attribute is what
keeps Digg going strong. At some point CNN, MSN and
FOX NEWS are going to have to shift their story
line to user-selected stories. Have you ever sat in
front of the 10 o’clock news and thought I don’t
care about this story I just want to get my sports
and go to bed? Well if users (or in this case,
viewers) could decide what goes first I think
ratings on news programs would be much higher.
So this week website you should check out is Digg.com, A little of
everything for everybody.
